Traveler’s Tales

I always regret not doing more journaling in my travels. I guess I’d rather live in those moments, fully, than to stress about documenting them in their entirety. I’ve unfortunately realized that as time goes by the memories fade. Years, months …even days is enough time to erase the the moments and emotions not captured and stored safely in some form of memorabilia.

As life moves forward, even more details will get left further and further behind. In the future I hope to strike some sort of balance between enjoying the present moment and finding some tangible way to remember, say, how it felt to experience the greatest joy I’ve ever known in leaving the Shanghai Stock Exchange and faintly hearing one of our Chinese guides randomly hum the tune of “I’ll Make a Man out of You” from Disney’s Mulan to himself.

For clarity, my intent isn’t to go back and re-document my entire past, but rather to reflect on the parts of it that haven’t yet been left behind. And to share new experiences.

I want… to remember.

Following my own Tips, this will not be an online diary. But, it will get personal. Things will get juicy. And, fair warning, you might catch the travel bug. ♡
